User Experience Researcher
UX/UI Designer
PhD Student
Hello and welcome to all things Aaron Crowson!
I am a Ph.D. student in the Human Factors and Applied Cognition program at North Carolina State University. I have conducted research in both the basic and applied areas. Applied research is where I particularly thrive. I enjoy it when my research can be used to solve a real-world problem. Due to this, UX research really resonates with me. I relish the unique challenges specific to UX research. Especially since it can be hard to intuitively assess if UX research is being conducted in an appropriate manner or not. I have the knowledge to strategically use research and its valid methodologies to produce the most accurate and meaningful results.
With this in mind, my current research interests are in helping solve problems that arise in emergent technologies such as AR and VR. Recently I have been looking at how I can aid in the development of autonomous vehicles in order to increase people's trust and hazard perception while operating the system.
